Stadig flere bibliotek holder meråpent. Bibliotekarforbundet mener både bibliotekeiere, publikum og ansatte må være klar over at det får noen konsekvenser når man innfører selvbetjente åpningstider. De ulike interessentene kan ha ulike behov og ulikt syn på meråpent selv om alle i utgangspunktet er positive til tilbudet, sier forbundsstyret i BF i en uttalelse.

Bibliotekarforbundet er positive til meråpent bibliotektilbud. Vi ser det som et fornuftig tiltak i arbeidet med å sikre bibliotekene som relevante institusjoner.

Bibliotekarforbundet er opptatt av å bidra til kunnskap om meråpent bibliotektilbud. Vi ser også behovet for å sette meråpent inn i en større kontekst. BF ønsker at både bibliotekeiere og ansatte skal være bevisst ulike prinsipielle forhold rundt meråpent. Sentrale problemstillinger er:
